NOTE: I will charge a small fee if the hair arrives in a mess and I have to untangle it to be able to work with it! I do not charge for washing or cleaning the hair, but untangling and organizing it takes a great deal of time and it will extend the time it takes to get your completed piece back to you.
IS IT REALLY MY HORSE'S HAIR IN THE KEEPSAKE I ORDERED?
Unless I specifically ask you to add different hair to your piece to meet size requirements, the hair used in your keepsake is 100% from the horse you choose. I only work on one piece at a time to ensure that hair does not get mixed up. All of the hair that I have is kept in individual containers and I will not bring out another horse's hair if there is already some on my desk. If I make a piece combining two horses, I will complete the section with one horse's hair before I start working with other hair. If I stop working on a piece for any reason, all of the hair goes into each individual horse's container to avoid any mix-ups, lost hair, or damage.
WHAT HAPPENS IF MY KEEPSAKE BREAKS?
If any of your purchases from our store need repair, please contact me as quickly as possible. We will then work together to get your piece back together to your liking. If your piece is not able to be repaired back to the original design that you ordered, I will attempt to use the remaining hair and create a new piece free of charge. All I ask is that you cover shipping and handling costs.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO CREATE A PIECE?
My current production time is between 1-4 weeks depending on the season and how many orders are currently in production. Expedited shipping is available on rush orders, but it still takes me 2-3 days from start to finish to create a single piece. During the holidays, I ask that you get gift orders placed and hair shipped to me before December 5th to ensure your order arrives back to you before the holiday festivities begin.
DO I NEED TO WASH THE HAIR BEFORE I SEND IT TO YOU?
No, you do not need to wash the horse hair before you send it to me. I will clean, disinfect, and whiten (if applicable) for no additional cost.

NOTE: The hair does not have to be washed, but it DOES have to be secured and packaged according to my specifications here. If the hair arrives in a tangled mess, I will charge a fee to untangle it.
HOW MUCH HAIR DO YOUR KEEPSAKES REQUIRE?
I can create a keepsake using any amount of hair, from bridle path clippings to full-length tails, but the amount of hair required varies greatly by style. On average, most of my keepsakes require a section of hair about as thick as a Sharpie Permanent Marker and 14" long minimum. If hair is shorter than 14" long, I can make slight modifications to certain pieces to accommodate lack of length.
